Elevcam
Privacy Policy
Effective 07/10/2026
In short: Elevcam does not collect any personal data. Your photos, videos and edits stay on your iPhone. The app has no accounts, no analytics, no ads and makes no network connections of its own.
Who we are
Elevcam is a film-simulation camera app published by Bui Truong Giang (“we”). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the app. Questions: support@elevcam.com.
What we collect
Nothing. Elevcam never sends your photos, videos, edits, location or any other information to us or to anyone else. There are no user accounts, no analytics or tracking tools, no advertising and no third-party software development kits in the app.
What stays on your device
- Photos and videos you capture, and photos you import, are stored privately inside the app on your iPhone.
- Your edits (film choice and adjustments), the film presets you save, and your app settings are stored alongside them.
- Items you delete move to Recently Deleted and are permanently removed after 30 days, or immediately if you delete them from there.
- Deleting the app deletes all of this data. To keep a photo, save it to your Photos library first.
Permissions the app asks for
- Camera — to take photos and videos.
- Microphone — to record sound with your videos.
- Photos (add only) — to save a photo or video to your Photos library when you tap Save. Elevcam cannot see or read your existing library. When you import, you pick photos in Apple’s own picker, and the app only receives the photos you choose.
- Location (optional, off by default) — only used while Save location is turned on in Settings.
You can change any of these at any time in the iPhone Settings app.
Location and photo metadata
Each photo contains technical details that cameras normally record, such as the time it was taken, exposure settings and the device model. When Save location is on, the GPS coordinates of where you took the photo are also written into the photo file.
That information stays inside the file. If you share a photo or save it to Photos, it goes with the file, so anyone you send it to may be able to see where it was taken. Turn Save location off before shooting if you don’t want this.
Sharing presets and files
You can share a film preset as a QR code or link. A shared preset contains only colour and adjustment settings. It never contains photos or personal information. Nothing is shared unless you choose to share it.
Crash reports
If you have chosen in iOS Settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may send us anonymous crash reports. This is handled by Apple under Apple’s Privacy Policy and can be turned off in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.
Children
Elevcam does not collect personal data from anyone, including children.
